コロナ禍によって長岡花火が開催されなかった2年間。
思えば本当にたくさんの長岡花火を描かせていただきました。
　
お仕事でもプライベートでも。

望まれて描くのはとても有難いことです。
そうでもないのに描かなきゃならない時というのは、けっこうしんどいものです。
　

資料の写真や動画を何度も見ながら、記憶やおセンチや美意識も使って自分なりに何発も打ち上げてみましたが、
生で体感するリアルには到底敵いません。

昨日今日、3年ぶりの開催となった長岡花火を見て、リアルに圧倒されました。
この2年を思い出しながら見てみたり。
　

ちょっとだけバカみたいな事を言うと、
2日間で一生分の火花を見たような錯覚を起こしてしまいました。

もうちょっとだけバカみたいな事を言うと、
一生分の火花がこういう火花でいいと思ってしまいました。

先人も言うように。　
それだけでいいように思えました。
　
　

The Nagaoka Fireworks wasn’t held because of the COVID-19 for two years.

During that time, I drew many illustrations of The Nagaoka Fireworks.

But it can’t beat the excitement of experiencing the real thing.

It was held for the first time in three years.
I had the illusion that I had seen a lifetime’s worth of fire in the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival.

I hope that the fires we see in our lifetime will be like the The Nagaoka Fireworks.

The Nagaoka Fireworks commemorate the victims of the war and the recovery with a wish for world peace.
